Where is the Parks & Recreation Office located?
At the Community Recreation Center at 250 South Mission Drive, on the corner of Broadway and South Mission Drive.

Are picnic areas in the parks available for rent?
There is one rental area at Smith Park. Please call the Recreation Office at (626) 308-2875 for additional information. The majority of picnic areas at Smith and all areas at Vincent Lugo Park are available on a first come, first serve basis without a fee.
Are amplified music, public address systems, animals, commercial play equipment, pony rides, alcohol, moon bounces, earthballs, etc. permitted in City parks?
None of these are allowed, pursuant to San Gabriel Municipal Code Section 10-2.06.
When are the parks open to the public?
Parks are open daily from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
When is Smith Park Pool open?
The pool is open for recreational swimming beginning the last week in June through Labor Day. For a current schedule click here.

How do I register my child for swim lessons? When are classes held?

What is meant by community service hours?
Public service hours worked by an individual to enumerate the County for bail charges or a misdemeanor offense.
Are Kennedy Baseball Field and the McKinley baseball and softball fields available for public use and where are they located?
During the youth baseball season, approximately November through July, the fields are not available for public use. During the remainder of the year, if the fields are open and vacant, they are for public use. However, to assure a specific time, reservations should be made by calling the Recreation Office at (626) 308-2875. McKinley Field is located at 1425 Manley Drive. Kennedy Baseball Field is located at Vincent Lugo Park.

The Lunar New Year is the most important of Chinese traditional holidays. The Lunar New Year Festival & Parade event date varies between January 21 and February 20.
